My Exclusive Summer Make-Up Essentials List

2. Juli 2018

The departure time is getting closer and closer. And while I pack my must-haves for the trip of the summer, I find myself once again going through my beauty pouch. My beauty essentials usually change throughout the year. Naturally, during the summer I use different products than I do in Vienna during the colder months. My skin needs other types of products to stay healthy and is more tanned – which I love! So, I thought it would be interesting to list some of the products in which I fully trust and will be taking with me to Spain in some days…

1.CHANEL Complete Correction SPF 50

In terms of makeup base or CC cream for the summer (and usually also the winter), I trust CHANEL fully with their CC Cream Complete Correction SPF 50. This coloured correction cream moisturizer soothes your skin thanks to a marine extract and keeps it perfectly protected all day long.

2. Concealer from Vichy

Another must-have is naturally a concealer at any time of the year. As I have been using Vichy products for my daily morning routines for many years now and as I recently discovered their excellent sun protection for my tanning, I thought that trying their makeup line would also be a great idea. Since then, the soft concealer by Vichy is on my list of favourites, too. This long-lasting (12 hours to be exact!) corrective foundation stick feels great on my skin due to its lightness. It blends in perfectly and has a very soft touch to it.

3. Powder SISLEY

A tanned face is simply a must, right? For this step, I trust the Phyto-Touche Illusion d`Été Powder by SISLEY the most. This is a compact version of a sun glow bronzing gel-powder that offers outstanding results, at least for me. My very first must-have of this make-up summer list without a doubt. Long live a sun-kissed face!

4. Hypnose Mascara by Lancôme

A mascara is always a must-have, all year round really. The Hypnose Mascara by Lancôme has been one of my “chosen ones” for more than 10 years and this is definitely one of my daily must-haves. As a consequence, it will be travelling with me to Ibiza this time, too.

5. MAC lipstick

I have been using MAC lipsticks for many years! I have tons of them at home, but there are two colours I buy regularly and this one is my summer colour: Candy Yum Yum pink hued lipstick with a matte finish. Ideal if you want to pop some colour to your outfit. Oh, and it is perfect to combine with the Ophelia Black Jumpsuit.

6. BeautyLash Conditioning Gel

Another of my summer beauty products is the Conditioning Gel by BeautyLash. This gel helps to keep my eyebrows always in shape … and when I colour them, it will also make the colour last longer. Super light, see-through and quick to use.

7. LOV Luminizing Fixing Water

If you are next to the sea or simply out in an open space where it might get humid or very warm at night, the Luminizing Fixing Water from LOV is probably your go-to product. Not only does it fix your stunning golden bronzer, it also illuminates and makes your skin glow to perfection.

8. Essie Nail Polish Colour >> Meet me at the sunset

Last but not least, I am not a fan of crazy colours anymore when it comes to nails, in fact, there are only a few I really use. My summer (and mostly all year long) option is the “Meet me at the sunset” reddish tone by Essie. But let me quickly tell you why. I am a big fan of Gellac nails for many reasons: it’s kids and playground-friendly, it’s elegant and I don’t have to worry about my nails for at least two weeks. I love it! However, it is true that I am not a princess and my nails may suffer some imperfections throughout the two weeks, so in these cases, I always have this Essie nail polish with me. I can cover those imperfections with the “Meet me by the sunset” hue since it is exactly the same colour as my usual Gellac, and I know it will last me at least until my next Gellac appointment. But shhh, this is just one of my cheeky beauty secrets…!

DEUTSCH

Bewahrt jeden Sonnenteint!

Zum Schluss die Fingernägel: Ich bin kein Fan von „wilden“ Farben (oder nicht mehr); umso mehr mag ich den rötlichen Ton des “Meet me at the sunset” Nagellacks von Essie. Passt farblich 100% zum Farbton meiner Gellac-Nägel. YAY!
